Luxury Vinyl flooring and Luxury Vinyl Tiles have quickly out-passed hardwood and tile flooring in diy projects. This is a short description on the current choices.




Luxury Vinyl products are grouped into these four categories, LVP, LVT, EVP, and EVT. Knowing the difference while help you make the right choice for your home.

Several layers of polymer vinyl are sandwiched together to form planks that resemble wood and are installed in either floating (clipped together), peel and stick, or glue down. LVP is waterproof, easy to maintain, and DIY install. Manufactures continue to improve quality and selections. Look for brands with good reviews, long warranties, and thick wear layers.

Modular Format– Luxury Vinyl Tiles are durable and affordable alternatives to traditional tile flooring. Several layers of polymer vinyl are sandwiched together to form a tile or plank format and are usually installed by clipping together. LVT is waterproof, easy to maintain, and the easiest to DIY install. Manufactures provide a seemingly endless variety of styles and durability. Installation can be done while furniture and appliances are still in the room.

Vinyl rolls are the most affordable flooring option. Consisting of a cushion-back and comes in a large continuous sheet. There are various options for installation depending on the sub-floor, these include, loose-lay, perimeter double-sided tape, or glue-down.






EVP - Engineered Vinyl Plank


Engineered Vinyl Plank is a premium flooring product made from a combination of vinyl and wood fibers. EVP is as durable as natural wood flooring.

While water-resistant, it is a good heat insulator and durable flooring. Installation is usually clipping the planks together, or some form of glue-down. Expect to pay more for the value.













EVT - Engineered Vinyl Tile


Engineered Vinyl Tile is a premium flooring product made from a combination of vinyl and wood fibers. EVT is a very durable and noise-reducing product, popular in the commercial space,

especially in hotels. EVT is water-resistant and very durable. Installation is usually clipped together with no underlayment required. Expect to pay more for the value.
