Continuing in the tradition of our other widely adopted programming
texts, An Introduction to Programming Using Microsoft Visual
Basic .NET emphasizes good problem-solving and programming
skills in a clear, easy-to-understand format. Object-oriented
programming is taught from the very start of the text.
Each chapter incorporates Visual Basic controls in programs
that demonstrate important programming concepts. Throughout
the text are many example applications complete with runs
that show program output.
Written and classroom tested by experienced programming teachers,
our Visual Basic .NET text describes many of the practical
applications of Visual Basic and has been expanded to include:
- Using built-in classes, their properties and methods
- A completely new GDI+ graphics chapter
that presents the Graphics class and ImageEditor
- Creating classes and understanding instantiation, encapsulation, inheritance, and polymorphism
- Manipulating files with built-in classes
- Creating classes and understanding instantiation, encapsulation, inheritance, and polymorphism
- Creating Web applications with ASP.NET
An Introduction to Programming Using Microsoft Visual Basic .NET is an excellent text for an introductory programming course
in a sequence leading to Java.
