About Lawrenceville Press

This year marks over thirty years of Lawrenceville Press publishing the finest computer applications and programming texts available.

The company founder, Bruce W. Presley, taught computer science and physics at the Lawrenceville School in Lawrenceville, New Jersey for twenty-four years, where he wrote his first text, A Guide to Programming in Basic-Plus, published in 1975. Mr. Presley served as the director of the Karl Corby Computer and Mathematics Center at the school, as well as a member of the founding committee of the Advanced Placement Computer Science examination and served as a consultant to the College Entrance Examination Board. Presently Mr. Presley, author of more than twenty computer textbooks, serves as president of Lawrenceville Press.

Beth Brown has been Director of Development at Lawrenceville Press for over ten years. Ms. Brown, a graduate of computer science from Florida Atlantic University, has authored numerous Lawrenceville Press computer applications and programming texts. Ms. Brown has taught computer applications and computer programming at the high school and midde school levels.

Several of our texts have won awards in STC Technical Publications competitions. The Society for Technical Communication (STC) is an organization of technical writers, editors, academic professionals, and instructional designers. Winning these awards indicates the quality and craftsmanship of the educational materials as analyzed by our authoring peers:
